The Sermon on the Mount is all of Jesus' teaching distilled into one sermon. In it He revolutionizes what people thought was "good enough" in their relationship with God. The standard they were using for righteousness wasn't even close to God's standard. In fact, the central point of the lesson occurs in Matthew 5.20 when Jesus says, "Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and the Pharisees, there is no way you will enter the kingdom of Heaven." Listen is as Jesus exposes the standards we've been using to judge ourselves for what they are: inadequate.
